I began writing the songs on ‘Tales of a Salty Sweetheart’ while on a music road tour that took me from Boston, through the heartland of America and up to Alaska. From Alaska, the road tour continued bringing me to live off the grid in a mountain house of New Mexico, an artist apartment in Austin, Texas and on the fringes of strawberry fields in southwest Florida. Along my travels I bought a Tascam digital 8 track recording unit and an AKG condensor microphone. I had a clear vision and inspiration to make this record on my own. As the engineer and producer of it, my vision was to make a solid, catchy roots rock record. I achieved this by making sure the production was centered around supporting the lyrics and voice, the song. The instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, dobro slide guitar, minimal drums, percussion, accordion, bass, mandolin, keyboard, voice and harmony. These are songs from the road, from my heart, from life.

There are some great musicians who contributed some tracks: Boston’s infamous Russell Chudnofsky on dobro and electric guitar, world renowned percussionist Marcelo Ozain, cellist Robert Rivera, NYC drummer Rohin Khemani (Red Baraat), Accordion by Kevin Byrne, Rome Italy’s bassist Fabio Fraschini and some added textural guitars from Italy’s Jurij G Ricotti. Mixed by the mixing legend Phil Green.
